Clean Plate Not So Great

Being a member of the clean plate club can lead to obesity. Surveys by the American Institute for Cancer Research show that 69 percent of Americans finish their restaurant meals most or all of the time, regardless of an entree's size. Because typical restaurant servings tend to be two or three times what normal ones should be, cleaning your plate means hundreds of added calories per meal.
